1870 Federal Census - Walker County, Georgia


The 1870 Walker County census is found in publication M593, reel 180 and covers Subdivision No. 128 (Fricks Gap), Subdivision No. 128 (LaFayette), and Subdivision No. 145 (Rock Spring). Fricks Gap and LaFayette were enumerated by Leander K. Dickey, Asst. Marshall and Rock Spring was enumerated by John M. Cotton, Asst. Marshall.

In 1870 there were 1321 households in Fricks Gap with 1285 families, there were 49 households in LaFayette with 48 families and there were 513 households in Rock Springs with 508 families.

The difference between the two totals usually being empty dwellings. Walker County citizens had a total real estate value of $.00 and a total personal property value of $.00. See below for a list of occupations and their totals.
